The Scheduled Monument Consent was submitted yesterday with the expanded scope .. now including Standing Building Record and EDM Topographic Survey. Historic Scotland was involved in the recommendations based on their observations during the August visit, so we expect no problems with approval.
The archaeologists and tree surgeon are lined up to start in mid April. With the expanded scope, we need to raise funds beyond what we have raised so far. We have voted to change our funding approach and to allow particular groups to sponsor particular phases of the project. Two of the three Clan Macfarlane societies have expressed interest in sponsoring one phase each of the two phases now scheduled for April. We hope to confirm that support shortly.
It looks like this is really going to happen!
